Burnt Sienna

These were also done ages ago: around 2006/7 I think. Used Burnt Sienna in all works from traditional to abstract ... and then bought a Bullmastiff Pup at the time and named her Sienna after the colour; which means 'Red, from the earth'. I love the whole colour range of red, love fire (one of the meanings of the name 'Lara' is firey ;-) and love the earth so ... not sure my pallette will ever not have Burnt Sienna.

 

I Believe in Angels

I really do believe in angels ... and although I painted these a long time ago, I've put them up as recently the theme of angels seems to keep popping up everywhere ... and then also, I just recently read that the guardian angels for artists is the arch-angel Michael. I loved the coincidence in that I'd painted Angel Michael just when I'd started painting :-) ............................ let's hope he continues to guide and protect me in the art world which sometimes can be really mean.

 

 

Midlands

I love the Natal Midlands, and for years have been trying to convince my family that we should move there. But then, the occassional trip there I guess is more the special ... !
